Hey Cloud, best of luck to you. I was hoping you would hop in TS last night, but had to run at around 9 pm my time. Sorry if I missed you a bit later.
Your banter, Arnold impressions and overall smart-assery (is that a word?) will be missed. Show them boys what a thing or two while you are there, and stay safe. 5 months will be over before you know it. |

You already know that I think of you as one of my own kids, so you shouldn't take some of this 'fatherly' commentary too seriously.
 Remember: you're smarter than 90%+ of everyone there. Even though they train you to turn off your brain and listen, do your research and know why they tell you what they do. In the real world, an idle mind is a liability. Never refuse to think. Spoke to Cloud last night in TS one last time before he headed off to basic. He said that he plans to be the best fun-hater that he can be. LOL
Maverick and I were laughing quite a bit as we watched the video of Major D and Cloud singing one more time. Even Mrs. D was heard laughing in the background at Cloud. 5 months may seem like a lifetime now, but it will be over before you know it. Take care big guy, and we'll see you on the other side. |

Cloud is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, apparently somewhere in the Ozarks. He will be there for his basic and advanced training. He called home last night. I answered and he got as far as "Hi Dad, how's it going?" and the phone when dead. He called back a couple of minutes later and Mrs. Disaster talked with him for a couple minutes, all the time that was allowed I guess. He is doing fine... so far
Don't really know when we will hear from him again but I'm guessing he will learn to write letters real soon as they wouldn't be quite so time limited. |
